The Peace Zine
Before there were objects, there were ideas.
Peace didn't begin with a jean or a white T-shirt. It began with observations. Conversations. References that stayed with us. Questions that refused to go away.
Some of those ideas eventually became clothing. Many didn't. Many couldn't.
The zine contains thoughts that came before the clothing.
It isn't a book, and it isn't a magazine. It's closer to the original idea of a zine. A simple way of passing on thoughts, references and conversations from one person to another.
The format matters less than the intention.
Printing changes the pace.
Reading from paper asks something different of us than reading from a screen. It encourages us to slow down, to breathe and to spend a little longer with an idea. Perhaps to notice something we missed the first time.
That's why the zine exists. Not because paper is better, but because some ideas deserve more attention.
Peace Zine No.1 is the first physical collection of the thinking behind Peace. Inside are essays, photography, found imagery and conversations that shaped the first chapter of The Uniform.
It is designed to be read wherever you happen to be. At home. In a café. On a train. By the sea.
Read it.
Question it.
Pass it on.
Or keep it.
Like everything else we make, we hope it earns its place over time.
The format may change.
The confidence may grow.
The ideas certainly will.
But the intention will remain the same.
To share the ideas before they become objects.
